Aquifer Drillers › Leading Kenyan Borehole Drilling Company
Aquifer Drillers is a regional Borehole Drilling Services Powerhouse. Aquifer Drillers began with the vision of creating and drilling boreholes in Kenya that would have a lasting impact, and changing the industry itself in the region and even globally. Our projects have ranged from drilling private boreholes for homeowners and businesses, to over 300 boreholes in various regions of Kenya. Since our inception, we have positioned ourselves to become the most successful independent borehole drilling company in Kenya. We accomplished this by investing in knowledge management and high-end equipment. Not only has this increased efficiency and delivery in the drilling sector, but it has allowed us to continually improve by anticipating market trends

Permit Acquisition
Before any drilling can commence, we acquire the necessary drilling permits from the relevant authorities. This ensures that the project is legally compliant, and all water extraction activities are regulated according to the law. At Aquifer Drillers, we manage the entire permit acquisition process
Hydrological Survey
Once the necessary permits are explored, the next step is conducting a Hydrological Survey. This is a vital process that involves studying the water-bearing formations underground to determine the best drilling locations. We use advanced techniques such as geophysical surveys and geological studies to evaluate the site’s suitability.
Borehole Drilling
With permits in place, we begin the drilling process. Aquifer Drillers uses state-of-the-art drilling rigs that are capable of handling various terrains, from soft soils to rocky formations. Our experienced team follows these steps during the drilling process
Well Testing
Once the borehole is drilled, we perform Well Testing to assess the water flow, quality, and sustainability. This includes pumping tests to determine the borehole’s yield and whether the aquifer can sustain the extraction without depleting resources.
Well Casing
Well Casing is a protective lining inserted into the borehole to prevent contamination and ensure the structural integrity of the well. The casing prevents the entry of surface water and contaminants while allowing water to flow freely..
Submersible Pumps
Once the borehole is cased, we proceed with installing the Water Pump system. This system is responsible for lifting the water from the well to the surface for use. Our team installs high-quality pumps tailored to the specific needs of the project.

- Submitting the application to the Water Resources Authority (WRA).
- Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Handling all paperwork to speed up approval processes.
WRA License
Water Resources Authority license ensures that the use of groundwater is managed sustainably. It is issued to ensure that the drilling and water extraction comply with environmental and safety standards.
Environment Regulations
Compliance with environmental regulations is a pre-requisite and the two bodies : NEMA and WRA is where you get the documentation for this
NEMA Authorization
National Environment Management Authorization is issued after an environmental impact assessment

FAQs
Our Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the total cost of drilling a borehole?
The cost of drilling a borehole depends on the location and depth of the borehole. Kindly get in touch with us for a quotation. With sufficient information from you, our team will be able to calculate and forward to you the most accurate estimated cost of borehole drilling services in your area
2. What specific legal documents do I require?
Geological/Hydrological Survey carried out by a registered geologist in the designated country; Water Resource Management Authority (WRMA) Authorization; Environmental impact assessment report; NEMA License; If required, we can assist in acquiring the permits
3. What is a hydro-geological report?
Once the geologist has surveyed the area, he/she will provide you with a detailed report on the geology of the parcel of land. This report will also indicate the estimated depth of the water and the exact location of the borehole. This is an important stage of the whole borehole drilling project and you can get more information from our support
4. Why do I need a NEMA report?
A NEMA report consists of an environmental impact assessment report that details the impact of drilling a borehole on the environment. This is a mandatory requirement by law before drilling of the borehole (in Kenya only). Aquifer Drillers can help you acquire these document if you need help!
5. Why do I need water analysis report?
After drilling the borehole and doing test pumping, we will take a water sample to the government. A water analysis report is essential to understand the quality and safety of your water. It helps identify harmful substances like bacteria, chemicals, or heavy metals that could pose health risks. The report ensures your water meets standards for water uses.
6. How long does Drilling take?
The time it takes to drill a water borehole depends on factors such as the depth of the borehole, soil and rock conditions, and the drilling equipment used. On average, it can take 2 to 7 days to complete the process.
